DENTAL IMPLANTS

Benefits of Dental Implants

There are many advantages to dental implants, including:

  •  Improved oral health. Dental implants don't require reducing other teeth, as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health.

  • Improved comfort. Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures. If replacing a single or few teeth you are still able to floss and implants function the way your teeth would. Easier eating. Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.

  •  Improved appearance. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. And because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.

  • Improved speech. With poor-fitting dentures, bridges, or missing teeth you may tend to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip.

  • Improved self-esteem. Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.

  • Durability. Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.

  • Convenience. Removable dentures are just that; removable. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.

What is a Dental Implant?

The concept behind dental implants is quite simple. A small titanium post is placed into the jaw, and there, it bonds with the surrounding bone, creating a new root and firm foundation for a tooth that will be attached above. This implant is then connected to an abutment, which links it to a crown, bridge, or denture. Basically, implants restore the entire dental structure, which is something no other treatment does.

Are Dental Implants Right for You?

To be a candidate for dental implants, you first need to have healthy gums. If you have gum disease, you’ll need to have that treated before getting dental implants by your dentist. You’ll also need to have sufficient amounts of bone tissue in your jawbone.

One of the best things about dental implants is that they are so versatile. No matter how many teeth you are missing, our team can design a treatment plan specifically to meet your needs. Any degree of tooth loss can be permanently erased…

How Dental Implants Work

When you choose to get dental implants, the first step is to surgically position the roots within your jawbone, and after a few months of healing, these are attached to restorations that sit on top. At most other dental offices, this process is broken up between different specialists and dental offices, but our team is able to handle everything right here in our dental office. This helps patients save time, money, and stress while rebuilding their smiles.

Understanding the Cost of Dental Implants

The price you pay for dental implants will be based on your individual situation, such as how many teeth you are missing, where they are located in the mouth, and whether or not you need any procedures beforehand (such as extractions or gum disease therapy). While more expensive upfront compared to regular bridges and dentures, dental implants usually help patients save money in the long run because they don’t have to replace their prosthetics nearly as often (if ever).
