Did you know that a straight smile often means it’s a healthy one as well?
When the teeth are properly aligned, not only does the smile look great, but this also means a person is able to clean their teeth effectively, as there aren’t any small spaces created by crowding or gaps where plaque can become trapped and nearly impossible to remove.
And, with Sure Smile and Invisalign, adults can now straighten their teeth without having to endure years in metal braces. Learn more about Invisalign today by giving us a call!
Instead of noticeable metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses a series of lightweight, see-through plastic aligners to move the teeth into their desired positions. Each pair of aligners is designed to resemble a specific stage of your realignment.
A complete series of aligners are made at the beginning of your treatment, allowing you to move on to the next pair over the course of several months. Each pair is worn for about two weeks until you complete the series. After you’ve worn every pair, you’ll be given a retainer to keep your newly shifted teeth in place.
Sure Smile and Invisalign has been used to shift teeth for decades already, but it’s only gotten more sophisticated over time. This allows you to treat a wider variety of dental issues, including the following:
Crowded Teeth
Treatment can help for those whose mouth is too small to accommodate their teeth. After you begin treatment, you’ll see your teeth start to shift into straighter positions, even before treatment is finished! Crowded teeth tend to be at higher risk of developing tooth decay and gum disease, meaning Invisalign can be a net positive for your long-term oral health.
Gaps Between Teeth
Whether you have a major gap in your front teeth (diastema) or gaps throughout your smile, Invisalign can work to close them as well as make it more difficult for food debris to get caught in between them. This also makes your at-home oral hygiene easier.
Bite Alignment
When the bite is misaligned, basic functions like chewing can actively harm certain areas of your mouth. It can be especially harmful to your TMJ (or temporomandibular joint). Uneven bites can also increase your risk for teeth grinding and clenching, a common precursor to TMJ disorder. Invisalign can address underbites, overbites, crossbites, and other types of malocclusions.
In addition to being discreet thanks to their transparent materials, Invisalign’s clear aligners are also removable. This means you can take them out whenever you want to eat, allowing you to enjoy your regular diet during treatment. It also allows you to take photos with friends and family without any potential worry of your clear aligners being visible, if you so choose.
Plus, oral hygiene is simple as well, you can brush and floss like they always have. All you need to do is remove them, practice your oral hygiene as usual, then place them back into your mouth to continue treatment. This is also a great opportunity to soak your aligners in Invisalign’s patented cleaning crystals or denture cleanser if desired. This will keep them plaque-free as well as nice and transparent!
There are several factors that go into determining the cost of Sure Smile and Invisalign, including the severity of your misalignment and bite issues as well as your willingness to wear the aligners.
For example, you should be wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours a day for the fastest treatment possible. Until we perform an evaluation, we won’t be able to provide a cost estimate. During your consultation, we can discuss your payment options and create a financing plan that fits into your budget.
